This horse show is approved by and conducted under the rules of the American Miniature Horse Association, Alvarado, Texas. All horses must be registered with AMHA. A COPY OF BOTH SIDES OF THE REGISTRATION PAPERS OF EACH HORSE ENTERED MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE SHOW CHAIRMAN WITH EACH HORSE ENTRY. Entries that are received without a copy of both sides of the registration papers will be held pending until such papers are submitted. NOTE: Along with your registration papers, please send a copy of your Stallion Report Form for the current year. If you don't have the revised form, contact AMHA or Nancy or you can download the new form off the AMHA website (www.amha.org) This will save some time checking in.
All youth & amateur exhibitors must provide their current AMHA Youth or Amateur #'s on the front side of the entry blank. Applications for both these numbers will be available at the Show Office. Please acquaint yourselves with the regulations concerning youth & amateur exhibitors.
The Show Manager reserves the right to settle and determine all questions, differences and disputes arising out of or connected with or incident to this show within the boundaries of AMHA's current show rules and to cancel or combine classes.
This Show is qualified for AMHA World points and Greater Houston Miniature Horse Club High Point.
NO LOGOS, NAMES OR OTHER IDENTIFICATION OF PERSON OR FARM WILL BE ALLOWED ON ANY EXHIBITOR, HORSE OR VEHICLE IN THE SHOW ARENA.
ENTRIES CLOSE : March 7, 2008 A Post/Late entry fee will be charged for entries not postmarked by the close date, of $10.00 per horse. Post/Late entries will be accepted until 8:00AM, each morning of the show. Additional class entries will be accepted up to four classes before the class you wish to show. FOR THOSE OF YOU CHECKING IN ON THE MORNING OF THE DAY YOU SHOW, YOU MUST BE CHECKED IN NO LATER THAN 8:00am, (0r 30 minutes prior to the show starting) as there is so much to do before the show starts, we can not get the show started on time, without this new policy. The show office will be open each show day, one hour before the show starts. You will be able to resume check in as soon as whatever classes are taking place make it possible.
HEALTH REGULATIONS The State of Texas Animal Health regulations for ALL HORSES are as follows; each horse must be accompanied by a health certificate current within 30 days and a Negative Coggins (EIA) test within 12 months.
STALLS: $50.00 EACH (BLUEBONNET CLASSIC) Stalls are box stalls (10x10) of wood or wood and metal construction. No more than 2 horses per stall. Stalls will be available at Noon, Thursday, March 13 and must be vacated by 9PM Sunday, March 16. Anyone wanting to arrive earlier or stay later must make advance arrangements with Show Management and additional fees will apply. No bedding is included with stalls. Shavings are available on the Show Grounds for $7.50 per bag. Please order your shavings on the entry blank. NO SHAVINGS MAY BE BROUGHT ONTO THE SHOW GROUNDS. Horses may be brought for sale, but pay the $50.00 stall fee and meet health requirements. Stall decorations are encouraged.
MEASUREMENT OF HORSES Horses will be measured between the hours of 3:00 - 8:00PM, Thursday, March 13. ALL HORSES SHOWING MUST BE MEASURED! Measurement cards have been suspended for the 2008 show season. **If you can not measure within the set hours, please fill in the appropriate space on the entry blank as to when you would like to measure. If there is a problem with your time, we will call.
JUDGE'S EVALUATION CARDS Judge's Evaluation Cards are no longer mandatory, but may be filled out on a voluntary basis. Cards are available at the Horse Show Office.
DIRECTIONS TO THE SHOW Great Southwest Equestrian Center is located on Mason Rd. in Katy, TX. Take Interstate 10 to Mason Rd., go south on Mason. The entrance is on the left just over 3 miles out.
MOTEL ACCOMODATIONS The Red Roof Inn - Houston West will be the headquarters for the Bluebonnet Classic. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. RV HOOKUPS Motorhome or trailer hookups are available at the Show Grounds at a cost of $25.00 per night. Full hookups (water & electric) are available. The fee applies to anyone hooking up to any G.S.E.C. Grounds utilities.
REFUND POLICY The G.H.M.H.C. will give a full refund for a horse that has become ill, as long as a veterinarian's certificate of inability to show is provided for said horse, before the official start of the Show March 14 at 8:30AM. SUBSTITUTION OF A HORSE WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH NO LATE FEE.
CLASS SPONSORSHIPS The cost of sponsoring a Regular Class is $10.00, or, $15.00 to sponsor a Grand or Supreme Champion Class. Sponsors will be acknowledged during the Show and are welcomed to present the ribbons for their classes.

RETURNED CHECK FEE Unfortunately, due to a large number of returned checks at recent G.H.M.H.C. Shows and increasing fees at banks. G.H.M.H.C. will have to charge a $40.00 return check fee on all checks returned.
COMMERCIAL EXHIBITORS The fee for Commercial Exhibitors is $50.00 per weekend, for a small display and $100.00 for larger displays. Tables and chairs are NOT provided.
SPECIAL CLASSES - CLASS SPECIFICATIONS **Youth Liberty - No entries may be made at the gate. **Beginners Country Pleasure Driving - Open to beginner drivers of any age. **Newcomers Halter - See below specifications **Youth Newcomer Halter Obstacle - Youth 18 years & Under showing a mare or gelding. **Green Horse Hunter - Open to horses just learning to be a hunter, shown by any exhibitor. A Beginner is any person who is new to showing & has not won a 1st or Grand in their show career. A Newcomer is any age person, that is a new member to the G.H.M.H.C. for the 2008 show year. Newcomers can join at the show & be eligible for Newcomers Classes. Entry fee for the above classes is $10.00 per class. 2 of the horse show judges will judge Special Classes, except for Youth Liberty, which will have guest judges.
SHOW HIGH POINT AWARDS Each exhibitor must declare their intention to be included in the High Point competition by marking the appropriate space on the back of the entry blank or signing up at the Horse Show Office prior to the first class they are to show in. Points will be calculated from the combined points of all four judges. Points will be awarded in inverse order of placing: 1st - 6 points, 2nd - 5 points, 3rd - 4 points, 4th - 3 points, 5th - 2 points and 6th - 1 point, if there are 6 or more horses in the class. If there are less than 6 horses in a class, points will be based on that number of horses, ie; 3 horses in a class >> 1st - 3 points, 2nd - 2 points, 3rd - 1 point. Championship classes and Special classes will not count towards High Point.
YOUTH HIGH POINT - GRAND & RESERVE Awarded to one youth/horse combination in each of three age groups (7 years & under, 8 thru 12 years & 13 thru 18 years). A youth may be in more than one combinations, using a different horse. Points will be calculated from Youth classes only.
AMATEUR HIGH POINT An award will be made to the one amateur/horse combination that accumulates the highest number of points in amateur classes. AOTE classes do not count towards this High Point. An amateur may compete in more than one amateur/horse combination.
